International Conference
PRESENTATION OF METHODS AND WAYS OF OPERATIONS USING BY THE KYNOTHERAPISTS IN COUNTRIES OF WYSZEHRAD GROUPS AND POSSIBILITIES OF THEIR DEVELOPMENT.
The conference had place 3-4th April 2008 in Kielce city. The organizer of this international conference was: Polish Kynotherapeutic Society and Targi Kielce Sp. z o.o.
At the first day – 3th of April at 10,30 Dariusz Michalak the Director of Targi Kielce and Hanna Wojciechowska – Manager of Polish Kynotherapeutic Society opened the Conference.
Conference gather the auditors from all the country, mainly the therapist and teachers who worked with handicapped adults and children.
Agnieszka Zarzycka – psychologist, kynotherapist – had the first speech introducing historical outline about „Dog in therapy”. She gave examples of intuitive applied of dogs from ancient till
nowadays especially in England, Germany and USA. She introduced first scientific hypothesis about charitable influence of dog. She talked about Boris Levinson the psychologist who laid
the scientific foundations of therapy with dogs. Mrs. Zarzycka mentioned about empirical researches at the end of XX century, and finished with short historical description about therapy
with dog in Poland.
Włodzimierz Cioć – the vice manager of PTK- reported „Examples of efficiency in therapy with dogs”. Presentation of benefits which were included in being with dogs caused
a disscusion about specific illnesses and results made by kynotherapists. The auditors could in details acquainted with effects from kynotherapy (children with Down Syndrome, Autism
and others). This informations were gathered by Marta Kaźmierczak – special educator, kynotherapists. Two cases of kynophobia ( 4 years old girl with MPD and 18 years old boy with
autism) and documentary effects of kynotherapy with boy who had made available Hanna Wojciechowska – kynotherapist, SI therapist and Terapia Taktylna therapist. Positive effects
including dog in therapeutic process people with bulimia presented on exemples of japanese doctors. In addition to this report there were some extra materials in conference book prepared
by Marta Kaźmierczak. It is the specific description of therapy process and their effects with 9 year old boy with autism.
Afer break Włodzimierz Cioć had a speech about „Terminology of classes with dog”. He talked about english specific terms like” „pet therapy”, „pet-facilited therapy”,
„animal-facilitated therapy”, AAA, AAE, AAT, AAI. He also mentioned about problems in using those terms. Włodzimierz Cioć said about polish terms: dogoterapia and kynoterapia
(dogtherapy and kynotherapy). He presented the suggestions for using polish terms in descriptions of kynotherapy forms: Spotkanie z Psem (SP – meeting with dog), Edukacja z Psem
(EP- education with dog), Terapia z Psem (TP- therapy with dog) and comparison of this forms in table. At the end of this speech auditors could listen about different definitions in therapy
with dog between definitions made by American Delta Society, European ADEu and made by Polish Kynotherapeutic Society.
Recognized by listeners definitions and demands associated with having classes and therapy with dog facilitated analysis „Myth and facts about therapy with dog” prepared
by Marta Kwiecińska – kynotherapist and future psychologist. She quoted 10 wrong opinions expressed in lots of discussions about therapy with dogs. Marta Kwiecińska made critical
analysis for those wrong opinions which helps to correct them and lean against reliable knowledge and kynotherapists practise.

On this conference for the first time was presented the specific tool - „Correlation Matrix”. It could help to mark of the range of possibly to realize specific tasks by
kynotheraputic team or inversely - the qualification of minimum - necessary requirements to the kynotherapeutic team to have classes specific therapy form. The virtue of this tool is
simple grafic form and easily using of Corelation Matrix.
Long break and meal favourabled to laze. Hanna Wojciechowska with her presentation „Safety during classes with dog” stimulated everyone to discusion. She presented
factors which have essential influence just like: abilities and experience of kynotherapist, dog character and dog training. She definied of kynotherapist training: the volounteer of kynotherapy,
kynotherapist, and special-kynotherapist. She said about features of therapeutic dog and effective ways of winnig good dogs fo therapy. During this presentation there were lots of questions.
The safety during the classes with dog are inseparable opinion with character and abilities of the dog. Włodzimierz Cioć tolked about dog certificates. This presentation ended with short
information about elements of standardization: Code of Kynotherapit`s Ethics, Canon of Kynotherapy and documentation of classes. Full text of thist documents you can find on the web

The first day of this conference ended with the demonstration of kynotherapeutic excercises with children. The demonstration was prepared by Aleksandra Gabara, Marta Kwiecińska,
Marta Kaźmierczak and Agnieszka Zarzycka. The commentator was Hanna Wojciechowska.
